Martín Karadagián vs José Gatica

Martín Karadagián vs José Gatica

Martín Karadagián took on boxer José “Mono” Gatica in a disastrous wrestler versus boxer match at Luna Park in Buenos Aires in 1957. Karadagián’s career was on the upswing, while the former superstar Gatica was destitute after being forced out of the boxing game for his political leanings. The match was supposed to be a worked affair, but turned into a shoot. No doubt there are differing accounts of who turned the work into war; the end result saw Karadagián hooking Gatica’s ankle, breaking it.

1970: Jim Morrison is tried in Miami on “lewd and lascivious” behavior! People sure did get worked up over that quick flash of cock!
