I didn't know what these things were before I sent in my guess. Blecch, that's icky. To play upon the title of a Springsteen tune, I guess I was "blinded by the loot." Which had better be very good, by the way, if my reputation is going to take such a public drubbing as to be associated with such filth.

Beware: This game is infectious
Humans vs. Zombies is all the rage on college campuses

Math geeks say zombies win
http://www.examiner.com/x-19975-Philadelphia-Zombie-Examiner~y2009m8d19-Math-geeks-say-zombies-win
Bad news. Mathematicians at the University of Ottawa in Canada have proven through a mathematical model that a zombie outbreak will eradicate the human race. Let’s hope they neglected a variable or two.
The report can be a little tough to understand for those of us who aren’t math geniuses. It says a little bit about the history of the zombie before classifying people into three types for their formula, which can be seen to the right: Susceptible, Zombie and Removed. “Susceptibles” are normal, uninfected humans; “Zombies” are obvious; and “Removed” are destroyed zombies and dead humans that can still reanimate. The tricky part of this model, compared to standard infectious disease models used to chart outbreaks, is that once someone dies they can come back into play and continue spreading the infection.
But don’t give up hope yet. The authors of the report give us advice so we can save ourselves in the event of a zombie outbreak. “Only sufficiently frequent attacks, with increasing force, will result in eradication.” In other words, shoot first and ask questions later.
